The Last one

Hello Readers, you might be wonder why the title of this post is “The Last one” the reason being it will be the last post on this blog and I will be moving on. This post will also be different compared to my other blog post instead of writing about what I am reading or what book I am reviewing , I just wanted a goodbye post that gives you some information about my self and my time on word press. I have to say that I was very happy with my experience on word press and this blog, it was very easy to use and extremely simplistic to design the blog page. I really appreciate all the feed back and comments on the post that I have made. The comments were always very considerate and positive, there were never any rude or negative comments.

I also appreciate all the followers and other bloggers that liked my page or kept track of my post. I know your all probably wondering why all of my previous blog post have been about books and this one is different well if you couldn’t tell I created this blog as a project for one of my college courses, thats why all the Previous post were so formatted and all kinda had the same look and gave the same information. I hope that you have enjoyed all of my Book review and updates. I know most of the books I have reviewed have been Action, drama and mystery, so I hope that most of you are okay with the same types of Books. I can say that from all the books that I have read during my time using this blog I have not disliked any of the books and thought they were all interesting as well as the authors were all good writers. Overall Hope you guys enjoyed everything!

“No Way Back” Review

51MhwuLxI+L

In my previous post I talked about a book called “No way Back” By Rick Mofina. The book is 485 Pages long. No way back has a main character named Tom Reed, Tom is a crime reporter from San Francisco. At the begging of the book it is explained that tom is getting tired of the news Business and so he decides to resign but on his last day of work as a crime reporter he hears about a jewelry store being robbed. The jewelry store was robbery and a officer was shot but a woman was also taken hostage by the robbers. As the book proceeds and Tom is at the crime scene investigating it come to light that the woman hostage is actually Toms wife. After hearing the new about his wife Tom and his Son Zach refuse to give up looking for her. The rest of the book is a Mystery filled story about Tom searching for his wife doing everything possible to find her wife. To find out If tom can catch these kidnappers and find his wife you will have to read the book your self.

“making calls, jotting notes as the chatter spilled over the glass walls of the small office tucked in a corner of the newsroom. Experienced”
― Rick Mofina, No Way Back

Overall I really enjoyed this book it was a good story line. The character were pretty well developed and had good descriptions. The plot was a little traditional in the sense of course the robbers kid nap the wife of the news reporter, but it still had plenty of twist and turns and left you on the edge of your seat. The only thing that I would change is the pace of this story it was very long and drawn out if probably could have been cut down to just over 300 pages not close to 500 like it is. The writing style of the Author was good and described the settings and the character well, I also felt while reading this book  as though I was in it and really get a scenes of what was happening as if i was living in the middle of it.

Its Monday and I am reading “No way Back”

Hey guys I am Back again with a new book Its called No Way Backby Rick Mofina and its 485 pages and I am about half way through on page 217.  So far the book has been pretty interesting and a lot has happened. The story takes place in San Fransisco California and is about a crime repoter named Tom Reed. What I have read so far Reed has just quit his job but on that day a big robber homicide happens and Reed hurries to what will be his last big story and to go out with a bang. When Reed arrives he is shocked to find out from a staff member at the jewelry store that the hostage is his own wife, and now Reed is Frozen with shock and confronts the crime Inspector. So far thats all I have read and I want to keep reading more and more but just don’t have the time between work and school. The book is very good and definitely a page turner or at least it seems like its a pager turner just because I left off on section where the book was execiting and seems like its on a cliff hanger of the book .

The beginning of the book seemes very slow and drawn out but has gotten better. The book also seems kind of long from what of the story I have read so far. The point of view seems to go from several different characters and gets kinda of closed when the only point of view should be From the main character Tom Reed. Other than reading the book I haven’t had a lot happening in my life , just trying to be a normal college kid and try to get my life together. I have been focusing a lot on school and my classes and taking a break from my social life on the weekends. Hope you enjoyed my update and I will get back to you guys next week.

“This can’t be real. It can’t be. You just don’t wake up to another day, go along living your life then—bang—without warning, without a chance to prepare, in a heartbeat, everything changes.”

“Off The Record” Review

16781182

I Have just finished reading A book Called “OFF the RECORD” by K.A Linde. The dramatic novel is about 401 pages. The synopsis of the story is about a young girl named Liz that works as a reporter for her North Carolina college newspaper. Her first major assignment was to follow a states senators press conference. The state Senators name is Brady Maxwell and he is the ideal image of a young senator with good looks and can win anyone he talks to over except for Liz. While at his press conference Liz has some hard questions for the senator to answer because she has a very different view on politics compared to the senator. As the senator doesn’t have answers to Liz’s questions it catches his attention and the attention of Liz editor who feels that Liz is a very good reporter. After the conference Liz and Brady realize that they have chemistry and soon have a secret romance together. The rest of the book is about Liz and brady’s romance and how they both have all odd fighting against them being together.

“In an endless sea of overindulgence, find time to indulge in something worthwhile and make an informed, educated decision for yourself. What matters to you in here, will matter to you out there.”
― K.A. Linde, Off the Record

Overall I really enjoyed the book and thought it had lots of twist and turns in the plot. The story always keeps you on your toes and was an interesting story line. I wasn’t very crazy about how basic the book was its like every romantic drama where where the girl and guy falling love after having opposite view point and ideas on life and other things. The writer did a good job of describing the characters and interrogating them smoothly in the book. The book was also a Little to romantic for my taste but still kept you hooked and made it a good page turner. Overall I liked the book and would suggest other people to read it.

“The Hard Road” Review

Recently I finished reading a book called the Hard Road. The Hard Road is by J.B Turner and is 332 pages long. The books main character is Jon Reznick and he is a black ops specialist. He is an off the record specialist or “ghost” he works for the government but doesn’t really know who he is taking his orders from. Jon has a daughter and  is a widower as his wife died in 9/11. Jon was sent by his mysterious employer to kill a very important man wanted by the FBI, but when Jon is about to fulfill his duties he stops and feels that something is not right with what he is doing and is now running and with the man he was sent to kill. Not only is this man wanted by the FBI he is also wanted by terrorist group that wants to destroy the United States. As the story progresses Jon’s daughter becomes collateral in this fight and he most do everything to to get her back and try to protect his country.

“Suck it up. Enjoy the misery. It will not beat you. Nothing will ever beat you. Ever.”
― J.B. Turner, Hard Road

As Readers can tell from the description above this book has lots of action and is very exciting. I really enjoyed The writing style in this book it is very descriptive and is easy for readers to comprehend. The book is definitely a page turner and keeps you on your toes. J.B Turner wrote this book very well and has many other sub titles that are just as good as this book. I would Highly suggest for people to give this book a try. The only thing i would change about this book is that is very similar to every other action filled book or move. The book has the same kind of characters, plot and ending as most of the  action books out there and is easy for the reader to guess whats going to happen next in the book.

Post summary of “The Last Girl”

I recently just finished a book called The Last Girl by Joe Hart . The book is 372 pages and is very interesting. The book synopsis consist of a character named Zoey and Zoey is one of the last few girls on earth, After an epidemic The birthrate of females went from 50% to less than 1% and after 25 years of this the population of women is less than a thousand. Since this epidemic earth has been crippled and every women that is born must be praised and are kept safe, since their are so few girls there is a compound that these women are kept to complete research on. After Zoey has been kept from her family in this compound for two decades and tested on like a lab rat, they have told her that the rest of the population outside the compound has been killed by the epidemic. Zoey is preparing for the next set of testing and other girl in the compound has come back from this and she is planing on escaping the compound but she doesn’t know what she will see when she escapes the outside world because she has never seen it.

This book had a page turning appeal about it and was hard to put down, I also felt that I could relate to the character and really understand how she was feeling. The author was very good at projecting an image and able to describe what we should picture in her head. Although I really liked this book I wasn’t crazy about how the author limited the amount of contact with other charaters and the book didn’t really seem to reflect on others characters mostly just on the main character Zoey. I felt that even thought this book was a fast read because it was constant cliff hangers it also seems a little drawn out and could be more briefly described and shortened.Overall I would highly suggest this book to readers interested in suspense and mystery.

Its Monday and I am reading “The Last Girl”

In The past two weeks I started reading a book called The Last Girl by Joe Hart I have read about 200 pages which is about two thirds of the book. So far the book seems very intresting and makes you think about things from a different perspective. From what I have read so far The perspective in this book is from Zoey whom is one of the last few girls on earth. It seems that in the world that this book describes earth went through an epidemic and the birthrate of females went from 50% to less than 1% and after 25 years the female population has dropped to less than a thousand girls. Every girl that is born must be taken to a scientific compound to be tested and conducted research on. I am about two thirds of the way done with this book and it is getting very jaw dropping and I can’t wait to let you guys Know how the rest of the book goes.

“The second you give up is when you start to die. You have to fight to make it.”
― Joe Hart, The Last Girl

In the past two weeks that I have been reading this book many other things have happened and as usual my life has been very hectic, For instance last week was my Roommate/Best friends Birthday. His Birthday was a very busy day as I waited till the last minute to get his gifts and balloons and of course it takes twice as long to get everything because I was in a hurry and off course he also gets out of class earlier than usual to add to the chaos. So not only was his actually Birthday a head ache of a day it was stressful week since my best friend seems to think that his Birthday should last the whole week and that we should celebrate everyday for a week, Not to mention that I had tons of homework during this week. So as you can tell I was happy to have the weekend come and happy for my friends birthday week of fun be over.

My feelings about “The Girl on The Train”

After reading “The Girl on the train” by Paula Hawkins, I would like to start this review by saying that this book is a great book and at only 336 pages its a moderate read but once you start its hard to put down. This book has a great deal of suspense and mystery and if you like plot twist you will love this book. I personally hate books that I can guess the ending and plot just by reading the first 20 pages, but not this book it keeps twisting and turing through out the entire novel. Not only do I like the story line of the book I mostly Like how Hawkins conveys the story and describes a book that goes from just being a normal story about a girls life to a murder mystery.

The book starts off with a middle aged woman named Rachel riding a train, the same train and seat that she rides in every day. As Rachel rides the train everyday she looks out the window and vicariously envisions her life through a couple she see’s sitting on the porch outside their house, she has even gone as far to nick name them. The couples house is in the same neighborhood that she used to live in before she and her ex husband (Tom) got a divorce because he was having an affair with a woman named Anna. Rachel doesn’t know this yet but the woman from the perfect couple that she sees everyday is actually the nanny for her ex-husband (tom) and his new wife (anna). As Rachel struggles with depression from her divorce she one day sees the nanny (the woman from the perfect couple) from the train window and sees that she is having an affair on her husband, angered by this Rachel gets off the train and confronts the girl about cheating on her perfect husband but the girl disappears as Rachel is yelling at her, but as Rachel got off the train a man that also rides the train everyday saw Rachel get off that stop and notice that its a different stop than she usually gets off so he followed her to make sure she was okay while Rachel was yelling at the girl the man saw her yell at the nanny. The story moves to the next day and Rachel doesn’t remember anything after she got off the train that day  because she is an alcholic and was drunk that day so she blacked out, later that day she gets interviewed by an officer because the woman that she went to confront is missing and the officer tells her that the woman is her ex husbands nanny. The reasons the officer is interviewing her is because the man from the train told the police that he saw Rachel yelling at the other woman. The story is then a huge mystery to find out in network of related people that don’t know each other to see who knows why the woman is missing or dead and to also see who was that man that the missing woman was having an affair with.
